Artist Profile

Arleen Merrill,

Representational Oil Painter

Current body of work delivers:

individuals, spectacles of local & indigenous cultures, and iconic destinations of the Southwest, reflected as colorful subjects that exhibit presence and intentional expression.

The challenge of painting in alla prima mode is a favorite format, yet Arleen often references personal images to compose designs.

An Arizona resident, she enjoys exploring the natural environment, and engaging with many 'down to earth' people who make it an interesting place to live.  All, provide a plethora of inspiration and connection from which she draws, to develop her renderings.
